What path led you to wealth management?
I first started out as a drama major in college. After realizing I would never be able to make a career of anything the performing arts had to offer for me, I decided to take an Economics class to fill my schedule instead. I was instantly fascinated with everything I learned and decided to pursue this topic further. After earning my degree in Economics, I was looking for a career opportunity that would allow me to continue learning every day. I found that opportunity with TDC.
Why did you join TDC?
I started at TDC in 2006, one year after graduating college. My intentions were originally to work at TDC for just 2-3 years, but I stayed because of the opportunity it provided for me to learn and grow each day. I also stayed because of the people and because I truly grew to love what I do for the company.
What most excites you about your work?
I get excited when I can help my team solve a problem, or when I am able to help them answer a question for a client.
What has been your most rewarding career experience?
Participating in the training and education of new employees, and younger advisers in our firm is incredibly rewarding.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
My family is the one thing for which I am most proud. The life my husband and I have built and are working to build for our two young daughters is something that fills me with pride and joy.
Why do families need to be stronger, closer, and wiser?
Family is the one thing you can rely on no matter what you are going through. The stronger and closer those familial ties, the stronger a person can become. With more knowledge to share and pass on, the wiser and more productive our future generations can be.
What do you like to do outside of work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
When we’re not traveling, my family and I love exploring all that Toledo, Ohio has to offer. We enjoy visits to the Art Museum, the Toledo Zoo, all of the Metroparks in the area, and the amazing restaurants available. When we’re able to get a babysitter, my husband and I enjoy seeing live music around town, going to concerts, and seeing live Broadway performances and the Toledo Opera.
What are some of your biggest influences?
My parents and my husband have been my biggest influences. My parents both worked while raising 3 children, but they always put family first and were able to give me and my siblings a wonderful and memorable childhood. I am hoping my girls have a similar experience to my own. My husband is my greatest advocate. He inspires me, motivates me, and supports me in everything I do.
